Why would I want to become a registered Site Visitor?
By becoming a registered Site Visitor you can:

- create a "personal calendar" from events listed on the site
- send reminders to yourself

Who can register as a Site Visitor?
Anyone with Internet connectivity. Multiple individuals within a household, business or organization can register and customize the site to reflect their interests and personal preferences. You will specify your own personal user name and password when you register, so every time you log on, the site will recognize you!

Who has access to my personal information?
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to our employees who need to know that information in order to provide services to you. Can I still participate on the site if I'm not a registered Site Visitor?
You can still view Things to Do, The Mall, Business Services, Community Resources and the Yard Sale without becoming a registered site visitor. However, you cannot opt-in to receive emails, participate in the contests, customize the site with your preferences, create a personal calendar, make purchases from the Mall or post items in the Yard Sale.
Why would I choose to "Opt-In" to receive emails from participating businesses and organizations?
Businesses and organizations on the AroundtheArea.com web site occasionally send out emails announcements to individuals that have indicated an interest in their products or services. When you register as a Site Visitor on the AroundtheArea.com web site, you are NOT automatically included on these business or organizations email lists. You must first "opt-in" to their list by going to their AroundtheArea.com web site page, and clicking the "Join Our Mailing List" button on the bottom of their page. You can remove yourself from any email list at any time, or view a list of the businesses whose email lists you have opted in to, by logging in to your Site Visitor account.
When I become a registered Site Visitor, can I "unregister" myself at a later date?
Yes. To inactivate your status as a Site Visitor, simply contact us.
