3rd David Nasto Memorial Walk for Oral Cancer Awareness September 25, 2010 8:30 AM
The 3rd David Nasto Memorial Walk for Oral Cancer Awareness will be held on 9/25.
The event honors David Nasto, a long time resident of Andover and Cranberry Lake who died of oral cancer in 2006, at the age of 47.
Registration begins at 8:30 am, followed by a breakfast donated by Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks Coffee. Free oral cancer screenings and blood pressure screenings will be provided and stage four oral cancer survivor Bob Unruh will speak, along with Dr. Arnold Rosenheck, associate professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.
After the four mile scenic walk, live music will be provided by the Wry Toast Band, with hamburgers and hot dogs donated by Hayek's Market of Newton. The event will also feature raffles and face painting.
Free T-shirts will be available to participants who register by 9/1 at www.oralcancer.org (click on "events"). Free goody bags will be given to the first 100 to arrive at the walk.
All proceeds will benefit the Oral Cancer Foundation, a national nonprofit dedicated to reducing suffering and saving lives through prevention, education, research, advocacy and support activities. For more information, contact Susan Lauria at susanspeaks@aol.com.
