Sussex County Community College Poets Paul Genega and Crystal Bacon to Read April 1, 2005 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
The Idiom Reading Series at Sussex County Community College is proud to present distinguished poets Paul Genega and Crystal Bacon. The reading will be held in the Library from 7 to 9 p.m. with a small open reading to follow.
Paul Genega is the author of four full-length volumes of poetry, including That Fall (Salmon Publishing, Ireland) and At The Tone (Three Mile Harbor Press, New York). Highly awarded, his honors include the "Discovery", the Nation Award and a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Charles Angoff Award from the Literary Review, and the Lucille Medick Award from New York Quarterly. His work has been published in He teaches creative writing at Bloomfield College where he also serves as coordinator of English and Chair of the Faculty.
Crystal Bacon is a 1995 graduate of the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers and a 1998 recipient of a New Jersey State Council of the Arts grant. As a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation poet, she has led Clearing the Spring, and Tending the Fountain seminars for teachers in southern New Jersey. Her work has appeared in a variety of publications in the United States and Canada, including The Ontario Review, Tampa Review, Cortland Review, and the Marlboro Review. Her book, Elegy with a Glass of Whiskey was awarded the 2003 A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Stephen Dunn. Crystal Bacon is an Assistant Vice
